3 Ways to Treat Yourself on Valentine's Day as A Form of Self-Care

If you go onto any social media platform right now, you'll probably see ads promoting the latest deals this Valentine's Day. If you're single or aren't dating anyone now, that doesn't mean you can't take yourself on a date. Before you come for me and say that sounds pathetic, or it's just an over-commercialised occasion that doesn't need celebrating, you deserve the world too, and you should be kind to yourself. Treat yourself once in a while; it's a form of self-care, and everyone could use a little bit of it sometimes.

Here are three simple ideas for a last-minute solo adventure this Valentine's Day:

Sign up for a cooking class

When I start living on my own, it won't hurt to have more quick and easy-to-cook recipes on hand to make nourishing meals for myself. I know you can get recipes on the internet, but it's more fun when you learn how to cook from a pro. Why not sign up for a cooking class and learn to make something you've always wanted to try or perfect? If you don't know where to look, try Palate Sensations.

Pamper yourself with a massage or spa

I love going for a massage or spa, and if it's something you don't do often, give yourself a treat to relax your mind, body and soul. Some places you can explore include Natureland or The Upsara Spa.

Get your steps in

Go for a leisurely walk to enjoy the breeze. Look for somewhere scenic, like the Botanical Gardens or the Lake Gardens. Take in the scenery, clock your steps and just enjoy the moment. Sometimes on these walks, I have little conversations with myself where I think about things I'm grateful for or what I want to accomplish in the near term.

Spend quality time with yourself and make the most of it, as the outcome may surprise you.
